About Focustera, our sources and affiliate links
Who writes this guide, how we choose and check sources, how we use patient reports from Reddit, how affiliate links work, and what this site is not.

Focustera is a guide to the medicines used for ADHD and for daytime sleepiness, among them atomoxetine, modafinil, armodafinil, guanfacine, viloxazine, bupropion and the stimulants. It covers the uses each one is licensed for, the off-label uses that doctors and patients talk about, and how good the evidence for each of them is.
Independent
No drug maker, clinic, telehealth service or pharmacy runs this site or pays for what it says. Brand names such as Strattera, Provigil, Nuvigil, Intuniv, Qelbree, Wellbutrin, Ritalin, Adderall and Vyvanse are trade marks of their owners and appear here only to identify the medicines. We do not supply medicines or prescriptions.
Where our information comes from
- Official product information: US prescribing labels (DailyMed), UK and EU summaries of product characteristics, and the Australian product information.
- Regulators and guideline bodies: the FDA, EMA, MHRA, TGA and NICE.
- Published studies, read through their abstracts or full text and summarized with the authors’ own numbers. Each study is linked so you can check it.
When a use is off-label, the page says which regulators have and have not approved it before it says anything about results. Every article lists its sources and the date we checked them. No clinician has reviewed this site yet, and we do not claim one has.
What people report
Many pages end with themes from patient discussions on Reddit, gathered from public threads between 2011 and 2026. We count how many threads raise each theme and quote at most one short line per theme, with the subreddit and a link to the thread, and never a username. These are personal experiences, not evidence that a medicine works or is safe, and the page says so each time.
Affiliate links
Some links to online pharmacies are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. They are marked to search engines as sponsored, and they appear only on the where-to-buy page and in a “where to buy” line on medicine pages, never on pages about a condition. Partners have no say over what we write about a medicine, its risks or its alternatives.
Not medical advice
Nothing here can assess you. Do not start, stop or change an ADHD or wakefulness medicine without your prescriber. Get medical help the same day for a skin rash, blisters or mouth sores on modafinil or armodafinil, for yellow skin or dark urine on atomoxetine, for chest pain or fainting on any of these medicines, or for thoughts of suicide.
Your choices
We explain; you decide. We are not medical or legal advisers, and we take no responsibility for what readers choose to buy or take. How to use this guide sets this out in full.
